Be the Salt and the Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:13-16 New International Version (NIV)

Heavenly FATHER, thank YOU for Jesus Christ. Thank YOU for the example He has given to us while He was here on earth.  How to glorify and to honor YOU with what we say, think, and do. On how we must live the life YOU have given us.  He showed us through the holy scriptures that our lives must be a living sacrifice consecrated and acceptable to YOU.

We pray dear LORD that let today be an opportunity for us to be the salt of the earth to influence people and to help them see what a privilege it is to live a life devoted to YOU.  Let Jesus’ light shine through us so that those who are still living in darkness may see this beautiful light.  Use us for YOUR glory.

In Jesus’ Name we pray.  Amen.

Luke 2:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Heavenly Father, help us to focus on the real reason for this holiday season. It’s not about the gifts we get, or the gifts we give, it’s not even the food we prepare or the family reunions.  — It is all about Jesus Christ, Your Son, who came here on earth to save all sinners who believe in Him. May we always talk about Him and the sacrifice that He made for us.

Thank You Lord. Thank You for Your amazing grace and Your great mercy.  In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. – KJV

Glorious Heavenly Father, guard us from people who pretend to care but have their own secret agenda. From those who preach for money, power and fame, preachers who avoid to address serious moral issues and only preach what everybody wants to hear.  Lord help us to discern who are Your true servants and who are not.  May the Holy Spirit guide us and lead us to the right path.  This we ask in the might name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Heavenly Father, we ask You to protect our family, our home, and our neighborhood from any calamity or natural disaster that may come our way.  Shield us with Your mighty hand.  We also pray for those grieving families in Sulawesi, Indonesia whose loved ones were washed away by the tsunami and  were killed by the earthquake.

Have mercy upon us Lord and forgive us from all our trespasses.  Let not Your anger fall on us.  We seek Your grace.  In Jesus name we pray.  Amen.

God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

Psalm  46:1-3

Let My Words Be Few

Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. – Ecclesiastes 5:2

Father in Heaven,

You know me even before I was born.  You are always faithful Lord even when I face trials of all sorts.  You are there.  All I have to do is to pray and to trust in You.

Forgive me when I utter words that destroy or hurt people.  Put a guard over my mouth and may I only say the words that build and encourage.  Words that are not selfish or proud.  My whole being is a living sacrifice to You.  May Your will be done in my life.

I praise You, my God and my Refuge.   In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

The Privilege of Prayer

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. – James 5:16

Holy Father,

Thank You for the gift of prayer, for the privilege to talk to You, to pour out our innermost feelings, to share our deepest thoughts, to ask for guidance and to worship You.  May we never neglect this wonderful gift.  Thank You for hearing our prayers, with a yes, a no or a wait.. We believe that You only want what is best for us. Therefore, we trust in You.  Increase our faith and remove our unbelief and our worries.  In the powerful name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

A Renewed Spirit

Isaiah 40:31
“Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.”

Father in Heaven, everyday I come and seek Your face.  Cleanse my heart and teach me Your ways that I may dwell in Your house forever. Quench my thirsty spirit and restore the longing of my heart.  Lead me through times of troubles and trials.  I know I am not fighting alone, You hold me by my right hand.  Thank You.  Blessing, Glory and Honor are Yours now and ever more.  In Jesus Mighty Name I  pray. Amen.
